The goal is not how fast you can take your protective style down. Instead, the goal is not to damage the hair that you worked so hard to protect. The removal process is actually quite simple, here is what you need to do:

  1. Use an oil based product or anything that will give your hair some slippage to avoid hair breakage.

  2. Have patience! Don’t tug on your hair and rush the process.

  3. Don’t take your braids, twists, senis, etc. out while your hair is dry!!! MOISTURIZE FIRST.

  4. Choose a day when you have nowhere to go so that you aren’t rushing the take down process.

  5. Use a wide tooth comb to detangle.
