DIY: EXFOLIATING FACIAL SCRUBS

Rather than drying out the skin with acne products, exfoliating is an alternative method to achieve healthy skin. Drying out the skin will initially stop the acne, but it causes irritation which then leads to future breakouts. Exfoliating not only reduces acne-causing bacteria, but it cleans clogged pores and removes the dead skin.

Ingredients:

Sugar- natural source of glycol acid which promotes new cell growth and breaks down dead cells hanging onto the skin.
Raw Honey-  is an anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal that hydrates the skin while reducing inflammation. It also kills skin infections that cause acne.
Sea Salt- contains trace minerals which stimulate cell growth and help the skin retain moisture (good for those suffering from dry skin).
Oatmeal- good for sensitive skin because it’s a gentle exfoliant. It moisturizes and reduces inflammation.
Lavender Oil- has a soothing smell and contains antiseptic and anti-inflammatory components. It reduces swelling and redness. This can be added to any facial scrub.
Pure Baking Soda- Draws out black heads and removes excess oil from the skin
100% African Shea Butter- treats blemishes, dark spots, discoloration, and dry skin. Shea butter should be used after the facial scrub.

You can combine any of the ingredients to make your own version of an exfoliating facial scrub. These facial scrubs can also be used on the rest of your body.
Please Note: I am not an expert!!!! This is what works for me and my sensitive skin so I decided to share it.
